The San Lawrenz Local CouncilThe San Lawrenz Local Council have expressed their satisfaction with the reforms announced for the Local Councils. The reforms provide measures through which the Local Councils will be closer to the citizens and enabling them to give a better quality of service.

The San Lawrenz Local Council said that while it is extremely happy with these reforms, it points out that this reform also confirms the direction that the San Lawrenz Local Council has always taken in the past in these areas, even if they were not the responsibility of the Council. The Council recalled how through their work they have alrady created a hub of services in the locality.

From the beginning the Council said it understood its role and mission among the community, amongst others, they established five years ago the Child Care Center and a Day Care Center for seniors. NGOs have also been given autonomy to work in the cultural and sports sector.

As with everything the council added, they have strived to ensure that all citizens in the region get the services which are required in their locality.

The San Lawrenz Local Council also welcomed the information and tools given to them to enable them to continue working in the environmental field, thereby reaffirming the work of the Council already performed in this field. Such as the pet neutering project and other initiatives such as the distribution of energy saving lamps to every house and soon that of the recently announced solar water heater initiative.

The San Lawrenz Local Council said it strongly believes that this reform is yet another stimulus to the Local Councils to continue to work for the good of their citizens and their localities.
