Hit series Fringe premiere free to all Melita subscribersMelita have announced that all Melita viewers are in for a treat with the free premiere of Fringe, the brand new Melita More hit TV series which is thrilling audiences across the world. The 2 hour long pilot episode will be screened on the Weather & Info Channel on Tuesday, the 21st of April at 10PM, concurrently with its launch on Melita More. The sci-fi series will then continue running on Melita More on Tuesdays at 10pm.

“Today, Melita is synonymous with the best TV content and we constantly strive to offer the latest content to our viewers. This month, we are launching a number of new series and new seasons – among them the latest episodes of Heroes and the brand new Fringe. The screening of the Fringe premiere on the Weather & Info Channel, which is accessible for free to all Melita television subscribers, is an innovative way of introducing our viewers to Fringe,” Ivor Micallef, Melita’s Content Executive, said.

“This event is yet another way of giving more to our clients. The pilot itself is the most expensive 2-hour Pilot ever created on US television, costing $10 million, and we hope that Fringe reaches the same high levels of success in Malta as it has in the United States. It is currently the most talked about TV series in the US and Melita is very proud to introduce this hit series to Maltese series aficionados on Melita More,” added Mr. Micallef.

Fringe stars newcomer Anna Torv, Josh Jackson (Dawson’s Creek) and John Noble (Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King) and its subject is guaranteed to thrill all audiences. The series, which deals with an experimental branch of science that delves into phenomena like telekinesis and psychic abilities, kicks off with FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham (Torv) called in to investigate the mysterious plane landing. When the search nearly kills her partner, Special Agent John Scott (Valley), a desperate Olivia searches frantically for someone to help and she is led to scientific researcher Dr. Walter Bishop (Noble). There’s only one catch: he’s been institutionalized for the last 20 years and the only way to question him requires calling on his estranged son, Peter (Jackson), for help. Under Special Agent Phillip Broyles (Reddick), the trio discovers that the incident may be linked to a string of unexplained events worldwide, dubbed The Pattern. The bad guys, so to speak, include various fellow members of the FBI loosely connected to Massive Dynamic, which holds the patents for various fringe science technologies.
