Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi visited the factory of the FXB Group in Xewkija on Saturday. The Gozo-based furniture manufacturer has announced that it has been awarded a €700,000 contract to supply furniture to a five-star hotel chain in France.
The Prime Minister said that the success of the FXB Group shows that the manufacturing sector in Malta and Gozo has a very promising future despite the challenges it faces through its membership of the EU. Dr Gonzi added that the skills and flexibility of the Maltese people can overcome these challenges and create more opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
