The Nadur Owned-Pets Neutering Project was successfully launched at the Nadur Local Council offices last week.
This project is being run by a consortium comprising of Gozo SPCA, Nadur Council, The Blue Cross and ITV Genzenlos. Mayor Miriam Portelli and Gozo SPCA’s Centre Manager Betty Berry handed out vouchers for completely free neutering of pets.
Nadur Council’s Executive Secretary Rita Mifsud Attard registered the details of those residents wanting vouchers.
The Blue Cross, Britain’s Pet Charity is providing the funds for the cat neutering programme, whilst ITV Grenzenlos, a German animal welfare charity, is funding the neutering of dogs. All dogs will also be micro-chipped free of charge.
People who are feeding street cats which need to be trapped for neutering should ask the Gozo SPCA to trap the cats when applying for vouchers.
Any questions about the project can be sent to Betty Berry at Gozo SPCA. Email info@spca-gozo.org or tel: 99807067
