In the website one finds information about the recently acquired collection of antique maps of Malta which forms part of The Albert Ganado Map Collection. The information in this section will be harvested by Europeana an EU funded project which brings together over two million digital images of paintings, drawings, maps, photos and pictures of museum objectsas well as texts sounds and videos of European Cultural Heritage. One can also finds a wealth of information about the sites and museums ranging from historical interpretation to information about the collections and information on visiting.
The information is enriched by a large number of images that give the user a good insight of the cultural heritage entrusted to Heritage Malta.
The website was developed in-house by Heritage Malta’s ICT and Communications departments and is part of an ongoing project to promote Heritage Malta’s work and assets by means of the internet. Heritage Malta is continuously working to update the website and will be adding more features and content in the coming months.
The website can be viewed at www.heritagemalta.org.
