Alternattiva Demokratika – The Green Party is full square behind the Ramblers’ Association call for no illegal building in Outside Development zones (ODZ).
Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson, Arnold Cassola, stated, “Alternattiva Demokratika shares the worries of the Malta Ramblers Association. In the past fifty years Malta has lost hectares upon hectares of countryside and coastline. In the past three years only over 4000 permits for building in Outside Development Zones have been given. This is unacceptable and totally detrimental not only to us today but to all future generations.”
“The only exceptions for ODZ development should be agricultural use and farms, in conformity with the law, and development in the national interest, such as for energy or security purposes, following extensive and proper public consultation and provided that there is no better alternative,” concluded Arnold Cassola.
