Gozo Minister congratulates Josianne Cutajar on being first Gozitan MEP

The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana has congratulated Dr. Josianne Cutajar who will serve as the first Gozitan member of the European Parliament.
This evening Dr Cutajar has been greeted by large crowds at the Labour club in Independence Square, Victoria, where she was joined by the Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana and Parliamentary Secretary Clint Camilleri.
The celebrations with music can be heard across Victoria, as the new Gozitan MEP is receives a warm welcome and congratulations from everyone there.
Dr Caruana, in a statement this evening welcomed the fact that for the first time Gozitans will have a voice in the European Parliament. “This election was therefore an historic one for Gozo not only because of the outcome, but also because the number of Gozitan candidates has increased over previous elections,” she said.
“As Minister for Gozo, I look forward to Gozo being discussed with more prominence in the European Parliament by Dr Cutajar,” said Minister Caruana.
“While thanking MEPs of each legislature, who in one way or another talked about Gozo and supported the agenda of Gozo, during this legislature we now have the opportunity to strengthen the position of Gozo in the European agenda,” added the Minister.
The Minister for Gozo concluded by saying, Gozo therefore congratulates Dr. Josianne Cutajar, the first Gozitan in the European Parliament.
