MATSEC has advised that, following reports of loud music being played last Saturday at a venue close to the Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School while students were sitting for their SEC Maltese Paper II exam, it is currently looking into the matter to ensure that the candidates will not be disadvantaged.
MATSEC said that it has been informed that the Examinations Department, which is the entity tasked with the selection and administration of the examination venues, is actively working with the relevant authorities to avoid a repeat of such disturbances.
5407 students are currently sitting for their SEC examinations, plus another 883 are taking SEC Vocational exams, while 3857 candidates are completing their MATSEC examinations, it said.
Examinations commenced in March with the listening and oral components and will run until the third week of June.
