Double cycling success for Gozitan brothers Brandon and Darren Sultana

The Malta Cycling Federation Road Race national championship got underway on Sunday, with the highlight being the double success of Gozitan brothers, Brandon and Darren Sultana of Gozo CC, dominating their respective Under 23 and Under 16 categories, in this first round.
Even newcomer Keith Sultana of Gozo CC had a very good result, making the second podium place in the Under 12 Boys category.
The new Under-23 category was won by Brandon Sultana of Gozo CC finishing his seven laps in 01:44.11. The advantage of six minutes and fifty-three seconds margin confirms his dominance in this race. Nicholas Attard Montalto of `The Cyclists’ ended second in 01:51.04, while third was Carl Xuereb of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC in 01:53.34.The Under-16 Boys category was dominated by Darren Sultana of Gozo CC, finishing his four laps in 01:05.47. Darren finished one minute and thirty-nine seconds in front of his runner up. Behind him clocked two riders from Mosta AF Sign Studio CC, Jacob Schembri (01:07.26) and Matthew Galea Pirotta 01:07.27.
The Under 12 Boys category was won by Jonas Micallef of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC making his race in 06:17.21. Behind him finished newcomer Keith Sultana of Gozo CC (07:29.10) and Luca Teuma of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC (08:20.32).
At the end of races, John Zammit and Joe Bajada, President and General Secretary of the Malta Cycling Federation, made the medals presentations to the winners.
