GBC welcomes €10 m investment in EU funds for Gozo’s rural areas

The allocation of €10 million in EU funds to improve the rural areas of Gozo , has been welcomed by the Gozo Business Chamber.
The projects were announced by the Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana and Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds and Social Dialogue Aaron Farrugia, on the investment to rehabilitate valleys, the resotoration and reconstruction of rubble walls and water catchment areas restored.
The Chamber said that it believes that the “Gozo’s economic development can only be built on the island’s sustainability that passes through the protection and the rehabilitation of these areas.”
The Business Chamber concluded by saying that,”this posits an economic benefit not only for the agricultural sector, but also for the tourism industry as rural areas are one of Gozo’s unique selling points.”
