Holy Week activities continue over Easter weekend in Ghajnsielem

Holy week activities continue in Ghajnsielem this week, including the `Way of the Cross,’ all organised by Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem in collaboration with the Ghajnsielem Local Council.
At Ta’ Passi fields there will be a performance of “The Passion: Then and Now on Good Friday, the 19th of April, starting at 10.30am. A live reenactment of The Lord’s Supper will also be held at Ta’ Passi fields, when actors will portray Jesus sharing his final meal with his Apostles before his crucifixion.
The organisers said that through the atmosphere of Ta’ Passi fields and the natural surroundings, including the animals, visitors will travel back in time to experience `The Last Supper.’ There will also be a live kitchen where traditional Passover food will be prepared.
This activity will take place on Holy (Maundy) Thursday evening, the 18th of April,, from 8.30pm until 11.30pm and the following morning, Good Friday, 19th April, from 9.00am until 10.30am.
Visitors to Ta’ Passi fields will find the 50-foot provisional cross structure, which has been constructed there and will be lit up every day until Easter Sunday, the 21st of April.
Both the Way of the Cross and the Cross have been constructed from recycled materials such as wooden pallets.
Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem was established in 1987 with the principal aim of producing quality productions and activities mainly connected with the Holy Week.
