Three Gozo localities win WasteServ Award for organic waste collection

WasteServ has hosted its fifth edition of the Malta Waste Reduction Awards this week, during which recognition was given to the three top ranking localities, both in Gozo and Malta, with regards to their performance in the organic waste collection.
In Gozo, first place was awarded to Sannat, second to Fontana and in third place was Xewkija. The Malta Waste Reductions Awards were presented by Minister for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change Josè Herrera and WasteServ’s Chairman David Borg.
The criteria for these awards were; the amount of organic waste collected, the decrease in the amount of mixed waste collected, the total amount for recyclables collected, and the participation rate in the organic waste collections.
