Work is due to start next week on the paving and embellishment works of St Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo.
The Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana said at the launch that, “this is a holistic project which will not only complete the regeneration of the area making it more accessible, but will also be serving different needs and functions.”
The regeneration of the square was the subject of a public consultation last year and Dr Caruana said that the completion of the work will also complement the project for the steps and new health centre.
The Government announced the new Gozo Health Centre, last June, and at that time it said that the Centre would be ready in the first half of this year, at a cost of around € 1.5 million financed by funds from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry for Gozo and will be the only one in Gozo.
