Gozo Creative Writing Competition for students closes next month

The Gozo Live and Gozo College creative writing award competition close next month, but there is still time for students in Gozo to put their entries in.
There are two themes for this competition and students can choose which they would like to use. One is The Most Important Teacher in my Life and the other is A Funny Story or Event.
The organisers said that entries can be made on either of these two themes, and should be in the form of short stories, poems, plays or essays. As this competition is sponsored by the English Department at Gozo College all entries should please be written in English.
All students are asked to please ensure that the name of their school and their age appears on the entry. The organisers said that the judges take age into account when assessing entries so this is most important.
Generous prizes will be awarded to the winners, and the organisers said that they are looking for originality. They want to read something that is “different to what everybody is writing.”
In addition there will be a prize for the best fantasy story submitted and a prize for the best poem, both of which can be on any chosen theme. Closing date for entries is Monday, the 22nd of April.
