The concept of Art is the subject of next month’s talk organised by Philosophy Sharing Gozo.
Spyke von Stripe, a modern, provocative and original artist, will take a brief look at some parts of the History of Art throughout the ages up till present day.
Art is open to interpretation and to philosophical discussion: What is art? Where is the limit? Is there a message?
He will lead a debate about art, exposing his own point of view and opening the talk to a debate between the assistants.
Spyke von Stripe is a Canadian born artist who has gained renown for his unique works of art since moving to Gozo.
He uses a number of media and techniques, and his artworks range from airbrush paintings and murals to sculptures and installations. His artworks have been displayed in numerous exhibitions in Malta and Gozo.
The artist’s genius at bringing scrap metal and mechanical parts back to life can truly be seen in his impressive sculptures, made to be admired but also to be touched and played with.
The talk will be delivered in English and is being held on Friday, the 5th of April, starting at 7.30pm, at Arthall: 8 triq Agius de Soldanis, Victoria, Gozo. Entrance is free, all are welcome.
