The Eco-Schools committee members at Gozo College Middle School said that they are committed to bringing about change.
Through their – Be Drastic Cut Plastic Campaign – supported by the LitterLess Campaign, they are now encouraging people to reduce their use of plastic bags – by giving out mesh bags.
With this in mind, on Tuesday, the students went around the streets of Victoria and distributed posters to fruit vendors, and gave out free mesh bags to customers. The school said that in the coming weeks these students will be out and about once again distributing more mesh bags in all fruit shops in Victoria.
TV presenter Ms Clare Agius, who is actively working to reduce single use plastic, accompanied the students and is supporting them in their work.
The world is changed by action not by opinion and these students together with their teacher are certainly setting the example.
