New Year service schedules for Gozo Channel and public transport

A reminder of the service schedules for Gozo Channel and public transport over this New Year’s holiday long weekend.
Gozo Channel has said that it will be suspending its ferry service between 12.00 noon and 15.00 on New Year’s Day to allow Gozo Channel employees, who will be on duty on these two days, to lunch with their respective families and friends.
The company said that the 12.00 noon, 12.45, 13.30 and 14.15 hrs trips from Mgarr to Cirkewwa and the 12.45, 13.30, 14.15 and 15.00 hrs trips from Cirkewwa will not be operated.
This means that the last trip from Mgarr will be at 11.15am, while the last trip from Cirkewwa is scheduled for 12.00 noon.
The service will resume in the afternoon at 15.00 hrs from Mgarr to Cirkewwa, while the first trip from Cirkewwa to Mgarr will be at 15.45 hrs.
There is a special schedule being operated for public transport in Gozo and Malta over the next few days.
Malta Public Transport said that tomorrow, Saturday, the 29th of December: all routes, including night routes, will operate as normal.
On New Year’s Day, the 1st of January 2019: Routes will operate on the Sunday schedules.
The service will, however, be suspended between 12:00 and 15:00, with the last buses departing between 10:00 and 11:30, depending on the length of the trip.
On Monday, the 31st of December: Special Services will be available for the New Year Celebrations in Valletta, departing from the Valletta Terminus.
All routes will return to regular schedules on Wednesday, the 2nd of January 2019.
Malta Public Transport also advised that its Sales Offices and its Contact Centre will be closed on New Year’s day.
