Ta' Pinu Mass celebrating week dedicated to persons with disabilityThis morning, a special Mass was held at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, celebrating the start of the week dedicated to persons with disability, which was organised by the Arka Foundation of Ghajnsielem.

Persons with disability, as well as their families were invited to the Mass, which was attended by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana. There was a party to follow for everyone.

The International Day of Persons with Disability is celebrated on the 3rd of December.This special day was proclaimed in 1992 by the UN General Assembly.

The aim of this special day is “to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.”

      Mobility disabled are still finding difficulty with parking spaces and pavements.
