This year’s Ministry for Gozo Worker of the Year Award launched

The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana has launched the second edition of the Ministry for Gozo Worker of the Year Award.
Minister Caruana, in a statement said, that following the success of last year, the Ministry is organising this second edition of the award which recognise the valuable and exemplary work of workers within the Ministry for Gozo.
Dr Caruana said that the Ministry for Gozo is very different as it encompasses various departments and specialised areas from Malta, all forming part of the Ministry. “This in itself presents challenges because people who are employed within the Ministry are engaged in many different fields,” she added..
The Minister acknowledged that the work within the Ministry is increasing and becoming more complex, “this requires that workers be given more training to meet the ambitious targets designed to fulfil the Government’s programme,” she said.
Through this award I want to say thank you to the workers and show my appreciation for the strong sense of teamwork within the Ministry for Gozo, where each employee is an important link towards the operation of the entire Ministry,” added Minister Caruana.
There will be awards for: Worker of the Year, Best Worker per Directorate, the Best Directorate, the Best Worker Community Workers Scheme, and the Recognition Award – Employee retired.
Dr Caruana explained that any designated workers must have made a difference, showed a sense of distinctive leadership, contributed to a positive image and worked towards achieving good results at the workplace, in the team, organisation or community.
Nominations close on Friday, the 4th of January 2019. The finals night will be held on Saturday, the 12th of January 2019.
