Alfred Sant and UK Minister Brandon Lewis discuss Brexit scenarios

Views were exchanged on all possible scenarios on Brexit negotiations between the European Union and the UK, when MEP Alfred Sant met with UK Minister Brandon Lewis at the European Parliament in Brussels.
Brandon Lewis – Minister without Portfolio – is responsible for the UK Cabinet Office Brexit preparedness and legislation and attends several committees in this capacity.
Discussions covered the possibility of a second Brexit Referendum, the possible agreement between the UK and the EU at an extraordinary European Council in November and Brexit’s impact on capital markets and equivalence of financial products and UK citizens rights in the EU as well as EU citizens’ rights in the UK.
Dr Sant will also address a Conference on Brexit effects on Malta this Friday at 7pm at the Suncrest Hotel, Qawra.
The prospects for the UK and for the EU member states and its effects on the Maltese islands’ economy, will be discussed during the event. The public is invited to attend.
