Gozitan Dr Anthony Galea wins World Public Speaking Championship

Gozitan, Dr Anthony Galea has won the the JCI World Public Speaking Championship, in Goa, India.
He was representing Europe in the competition and was declared the winner during the JCI World Congress in Goa, where almost 3000 delegates from around the world were present and which which comes to a close today.
He addressed the audience in a speech which included among others, the ability of young people to motivate others, and to empower younger JCI members towards making changes within their own communities.
Dr Galea is from the Physical Oceanography Research Group within the Department of Geosciences at the Faculty of Science, University of Malta.
In March this year, Dr Galea won the National Speaking Competition, and from there he went on the JCI European conference, which was held in Riga, Latvia.
In June he was at Riga and won the European Public Speaking Championship, which was a first for Malta, and Dr Galea, who was representing JCI Malta, was awarded in front of 1,300 delegates from 80 countries.
Dr Galea thanked all his family for their “massive support.” He also gave thanks to JCI, JCI Malta, KNZ – Kunsill Nazzjonali taz-Zghazagh, English-Speaking Union of Malta (ESU Malta), Pia Zammit, Edward Duca, University of Malta “and all who helped me along this amazing journey.”
