The life and times of Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn, the towering Russian novelist, dramatist and historian who has passed away some months ago, will be reviewed during an activity to be held at the Circolo Gozitano on Friday the 23rd of January 2008, starting at 7pm.
During the activity, Dr. Mario Tabone, in his inimitable style will be giving an overview of the importance of Solzhenitsyn. Dr. Tabone will be giving a bird’s eye view of the author’s works and his significance in evolution of recent history.
Special reference will be made to the effect that Solzhenitsyn works had on the uncovering of the goings on within the now defunct communist system. So highlighting the effect that literature can have on the development and evolution of a particular society and the world in general.
This literary activity will kick of this year’s programme of activities at the Circolo Gozitano.
