Visit to Gozo by UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili

The Gozo Tourism Association has hosted the United Nations World Tourism Organisation Secretary General, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili on a short visit to Gozo.
The Secretary General, who was accompanied by Mr. Peter Janech, Programme Officer for Regional Programme Europe, was welcomed at the Mgarr Ferry Terminal by the Gozo Tourism Association Chairman Mr. Paul Scicluna and GTA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Joe Muscat.
The Secretary General was then accompanied on a visit to the Citadel, where he was given a tour by Mr. Stephen Cini, Manager of the Citadel Administration Office.
He was shown the Interpretation Centre, the Gozo Cathedral and other places of interest within the Citadel fortifications.
Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili’s visit continued with a meeting with the Minister for Gozo Dr. Justyne Caruana, together with a delegation from the Gozo Tourism Association, led by its Chairman Mr. Paul Scicluna.
Various topics of mutual interest were discussed, but the focus was mainly on further cooperation between the UNWTO, the Ministry for Gozo and the Gozo Tourism Association.
