Sound Bridges: Joint concert with Gozitan and German musicians

A joint concert – Sound Bridges – with the participation of the Gozo Youth Orchestra and Eurode Jugendorchester Herzogenrath of Germany, will be taking place later this month in Gozo and Malta
The Gozo Youth Orchestra said that following its successful tour in Germany in September last year as part of an Erasmus+ programme, it now welcomes the Eurode Jugendorchester Herzogenrath for the second part of this EU funded programme.
Youth musicians from Gozo and Germany will participate in workshops and masterclasses during their eight-day stay in Gozo, which will be tackling subjects from education to culture,
Both ensembles, comprising of 70 musicians, will present a joint-concert on Sunday, the 21st of October, starting at 4.30pm, at Gozo College Foyer, at Europa Street, Victoria, Gozo.
The concert will be directed by Joseph Grech and Martin Eibach musical directors of The Gozo Youth Orchestra and the Eurode Jugendorchester Herzogenrath respectively. Entrance is free of charge and the public are invited to attend.
Then the joint ensemble will also present a commemorative concert to refugee victims while travelling to seek a better life in Europe. This will be held at the MPO rehearsal/concert hall in Floriana, on Monday, the 22nd of October, starting at 6.30pm. Everyone is invited.
The Gozo Youth Orchestra said that this project was possible through the Erasmus+ through the EUPA agency Malta, MEUSAC, Oratory Don Bosco, the Gozo College and the Sir M.A. Refalo Sixth Form within the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College.
