Ggantija Open Day on Sunday to mark 5th anniversary of Park inauguration

Next Sunday the Ggantija Temples in Xaghra, Gozo, will be open on free admission, to mark the fifth anniversary since the inauguration of the Heritage Park project.
Heritage Malta is organising the event in collaboration with the Planning and Priorities Coordination Division within the Ministry for European Affairs and Equality.
The Ggantija Heritage Park was officially opened on the 24th of October 2013, the €2.7 million project, funded by the European Regional Development Fund.Work started on the project at the UNESCO World Heritage site in May 2009 and included the construction of the interpretation centre that provides visitors with an insight into the islands’ Neolithic heritage.
It also displays some of the most significant and unique artefacts discovered at Ggantija, the Xaghra Circle and other prehistoric sites on Gozo.
The interpretation centre is linked to the Ggantija temple site via an external walkway that is fully immersed into the landscape.Heritage Malta said that on Sunday, guided tours will be taking place at 9.30am, 11.00am, 1.00pm and at 3.00pm.
Opening hours for the Open Day, Sunday, the 14th of October: 9.00am till 5.00pm (last admission at 4.30pm).
