The Chorus Urbanus Choir of Gozo embarked on a laudable eco-friendly initiative during their recent choral tour in the Palermo region, when the choristers started using tablets instead of printed scores for the concert of sacred music held in the Cathedral of Palermo.
The Choir added that apart from the obvious financial benefits, this initiative is contributing towards the conservation of the environment with a significant reduction in the demand for printed material.
“This initiative found the tangible support of the Eco-Gozo Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo,” said the Choir.
The idea by the Choir’s administration, of using tablets instead of printed scores, “is a first for a Gozitan choir and serves as a leading example to other local choral groups to contribute themselves in the country’s global effort towards the conservation of our threatened environment,” said Chorus Urbanus.
