A warning for swimmers of rough conditions at a number of swimming areas in Gozo, has been issued by the Water Rescue section within the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps.
It said that swimmers are encouraged to take the necessary precautions and follow lifeguards’ advise where beaches are supervised.
“Strong North-Easterly winds will affect mostly Marsalforn bay, Ramla bay, Hondoq ir-Rummien and other Gozitan bays including Dahlet Qorrot and San Blas bay, together with Santa Marija bay in Comino.”
The ERRC is a Gozo-based voluntary, charitable and non-profit organisation that aims to prevent and alleviate emergency situations involving people at risk.
The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) commissions the ERRC to deploy its lifeguards during the Summer period from June to October.
