Astra Theatre announces main roles for Verdi’s opera La Traviata

The main roles have been announced for the Astra Theatre’s 50th anniversary operatic highlight – La Traviata.
Verdi’s La Traviata, the flagship of this year’s seventeenth edition of Festival Mediterranea, will be on the 25th and 27th of October.
Gozitan soprana Miriam Cauchi will interpret Violetta, tenor Giulio Pelligra is entrusted with the role of Alfredo. Bolshoi fame baritone Maxim Aniskin will interpret Germont, while mezzo Oana Andra will return to the Astra as Flora.
The internationally acclaimed Philip Walsh will conduct the opera. Italian artistic director Enrico Stinchelli will be directing his eighth opera at the Astra, with an entirely new production specifically designed for the Astra boards.
The opera is supported by the Gozo Cultural Support Programme.
