Due to the strong interest shown in the Conti bozzetti which are currently the subject of an exhibition at Il-Hagar Museum in Victoria, a short presentation event has been prepared.
Il-Hagar said that Mr Charles Cassar will give a presentation about the donations and bequests this coming Saturday, the 15th of September, starting at 7pm at the museum.
Though the proceedings will be in English, interventions from the floor can also be in Maltese. Drinks will follow.
Nine painting drafts (or bozzetti) from the early twentieth century by Prof Giambattista Conti (1878-1971) which have been received by the museum as a bequest, acted as the spur for a temporary exhibition of a further dozen Conti abbozzi for his works at St George’s Basilica in Victoria from the ’50s.
The Museum is located in St George’s Square, Victoria, Gozo and is open 9am to 5pm seven days a week, the exhibition runs till the 19th of September. There is no entrance fee but donations are welcome, or help in the necessary restorations.
