Melita Mobile launches full services in February

Melita MobileMelita have announced that their mobile service is being launched on February the 1st, 2009. The company say they are offering cheaper call rates in a simple and transparent price structure. They also said that Melita Mobile will eliminate expensive monthly mobile bills and complicated tariffs, making it simple for customers to understand what they are paying for and to make use of the service.

Melita commented that they are the only home entertainment and telecommunications provider in Malta to employ a convenient single billing system which integrates all four services offered by Melita in one monthly bill, telephony, internet, TV and mobile. Melita customers can also benefit from great savings when using more than one service from Melita. The single monthly bill facility is available to all Melita customers as an on-going regular facility, irrespective of whether customers subscribe to two, three or four Melita services.

“Our mobile network employs the latest 3G technology and will provide full nationwide coverage from day one. We have invested to build a fully-fledged 3G mobile network using the latest technology. We are not an MVNO and our promise to be cheaper is a long-term commitment, not just a limited-time offer. We are here to stay” said Mr. Stephen Wright, Melita’s Chief Operations Officer. Melita has invested €40 million to build a fully-fledged 3G mobile network which provides full coverage across the Maltese Islands and full roaming facilities across more than 200 countries. As part of their Melita Mobile investment, Melita have established a customer experience enhancement program, employed 100 new customer assistance officers and introduced a 24 hour 7 days a week customer assistance centre.

Melita has also embarked on a program to open new outlets in several towns and villages with outlets opening around Malta and Gozo such as the new outlets at the GS Supermarket in Naxxar, in Msida (next to the University roundabout), at the University common room, at the Airport arrivals lounge and an other outlet opening soon in Paola, as part of efforts to move services closer to its customers. The outlets at The Embassy in Valletta and in Arkadia Gozo will continue to offer all Melita services and products, including mobile-related services.
