Gozo Summer Carnival brings spectacle of colour to Mgarr waterfront

The Mgarr waterfront was the setting on Saturday evening for Gozo’s, first Summer Carnival.
The event attracted large numbers of locals and tourists, who lined the Zewwieqa promenade to watch the spectacle of colourful costumes, dancing and carnival floats.Both Gozitan and Maltese Carnival Associations participated, with 10 carnival floats, six dance companies and three local bands, plus much more, keeping everyone entertained with something for all ages.The Summer Carnival was attended by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, who hailed it as a great success and gave thanks to the organisers for their work collaboration and support; the Cultural Council within the Ministry for Gozo, Festivals Malta and the Arts Council Malta.
