Course starting for those wishing to work as Care Assistants in Gozo

Applications for full and part-time courses are open to candidates on a specialised course, inclusive of theory and practice in the Care of the Elderly, leading to a Certificate as a Care Assistant to work in Gozo and Malta.
For those in Gozo, applications are available to collect from the reception of the Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria, or are available for download here.
The course is being run by St Vincent De Paul and the University of Malta. On successful completion of the course organised by St Vincent de Paul, participants will receive a certificate.
The University of Malta is accrediting this course as a unit within its Programme in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (PLAS). This is an opportunity for those interested to work in the local elderly setting.
The course starts in October and is spread over 15 weeks. The lectures covering the theoretical part of the course will be held over 7 weeks from Monday to Friday. Sessions will begin at 08:15 to 14:00.
The afternoon course is spread over 15 weeks from Monday to Saturday. From Monday to Friday, the hours are from 15:00 to 17: 00, while on Saturday the hours are from 08:00 to 12:15.
The practical part of the course will be held over 7 weeks where it is necessary to accumulate a fixed number of hours (187). Candidates may work from Monday to Sunday from 07:00 to 13:00 or from 07:00 to 19:00 in order to accumulate the number of hours required to complete the practical part of the course.
Each application must include a recent Police Conduct Certificate, a School leaving Certificate, copy of Identity Card, 3 passport photos and copies of any Academic Certificates held by the applicant.
