Zminijietna is urging the Government to address “housing inequality.” In a statement, the left think tank organisation said that the Government’s position to build new apartments for social housing is “mostly welcome.”
The leftist organisation added that in the last five years property prices have gone up greatly, together with rent prices. “This precarious situation is widening the gap between the haves and have not,” it said.
Zminijietna concluded by saying that it “condemns the position taken by the Federation of estate agents. The free market approach without state regulation will lead to price speculation, unaffordability and housing inequality. It would be much useful if the federation came out with valuable solutions to address the problem of housing inequality.”
