The Superglue as shown above, has been withdrawn from the market because it was found to contain a large amount of chloroform.
The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) warned that this can cause skin irritation and, worse than that, could be detrimental to health if inhaled or swallowed.
Since this product does not comply with the REACH Regulation, it can be found on the RAPEX platform that is issued by the European Commission.
The MCCAA warned that consumers should avoid the use of this glue and are encouraged to return it in the stores where it was purchased.
It added that, economic operators are ordered to cease selling or put this product on the market.
The MCCAA stated that it would take action, as provided by law, against economic operators who continue to put this product on the market.
