The 30th Annual Meeting of the Charter of European Rural Communities – People Meet People, has come to a close.
The village of Nadur has been playing host to over 200 people from 28 EU countries, with the main theme being that of solidarity, with particular attention paid to the cultural aspects that Gozo has to offer.
As part of the programme of activities, the delegates were able to visit various sites across the island, both historical and cultural.
The Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana said that the Ministry had fully supported the event, and it was a pleasure to host the delegates.
The Minister gave her “heartfelt thanks” to the Nadur Local Council, V18 and all the volunteers.
Valletta 2018 Chairman Jason Micallef also addressed the delegation at the official opening and together with Nadur mayor Edward Said unveiled an installation commemorating the occasion in Ta’ Kenuna, Nadur.
Before they departed the Maltese Islands, the delegates also visited various historical sites during a Valletta tour organised by the Valletta 2018 Foundation in collaboration with the Nadur Local Council.
