Gozo CCU Foundation purchase 15 defibrillators for Gozo schools

The terrace gardens of Ta’ Frenc were the venue for Sunday evening’s 11th Concert Under the Stars, organised by the Gozo CCU Foundation.
The evening was hailed as a great success, the guests enjoyed a 5-course meal, with the entertainment provided by Brass Tubes.
Dame Carmen Bellamy, Chairman of the Gozo CCU Foundation, during her speech for the occasion, explained the new project that they are currently undertaking.
She said that as a Committee they decided to embark on a project outside the Hospital. “We are installing a defibrillator in all the schools in Gozo, a handful have one already however we found that 15 schools did not.”
“15 AEDs have been purchased and will be installed in the schools during October this year,” added Dame Carmen Bellamy. “These will be equipped with both adult and paediatric paddles and training will also be provided to the school staff.
She thanked all present for their support, as well as the many businesses and individuals who provided various sponsorships and cash donations.
Special thanks were given to Mary Grace, Mario, Joseph and all the staff at Ta’ Frenc for their continued support since the Foundation’s inception.
