The free SEC Preventive Classes summer initiative for students who will be sitting their Biology, English, Maltese, Mathematics and Physics resits in September is once again being launched by the EU-funded Youth Guarantee Project.
Running for five weeks, from the end of July until the end of August, the classes in Gozo and Malta will be an intensive programme.
The Ministry for Education said that those students who get a 6, 7, U, or were marked absent in the five core subjects mentioned above, will be entitled to these classes in both Gozo and Malta.
It said that this is an intensive course “which will demand the students’ full attention, especially those who are re-sitting more than one subject.”
Students can choose to take classes in a maximum of three subjects, including a choice of one science subject (Biology or Physics).
Applications can be made online here by Wednesday, the 18th of July at 10am. For more information about the Youth Guarantee SEC Preventive Classes, call 2598 2280/1/2/3, or visit the Youth Guarantee website here.
When applying for the Preventive Classes, students are not automatically applying for the resit exam, the Ministry said. It is therefore important to note that they must also apply for the resit with MATSEC separately.
This initiative is within the framework of the Youth Guarantee. The project is part-financed by the European Social Fund, Investing in human capital to create more opportunities and promote the well-being of society.
