The temperatures are hotting as we start to reach the peak summer months. This can also mean a shortage of blood, with the rise in temperatures having an affect on the number of people providing blood donations.
Faced with this reality, the National Blood Transfusion Service is encouraging those members of the public who are fit and able, to attend a blood donation session in Gozo this Sunday, the 8th of July.
Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija. The session will be 8:00am to 1:00pm (last registration until 1:00pm).
It is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
The Service thanks everyone who intends to donate.
