Preparatory work is underway on the second phase in the Ghajnsielem Learning Hub project. Once all phases are completed, the Ghajnsielem Learning Hub will provide disability services to all of Gozo from under one roof – serving as a “one-stop-shop.”
The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana and the Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing Anthony Agius Decelis, visited the Hub to view the ongoing works.
Dr Caruana said that this project was created in the last legislature and is now moving to the next phase in order to increase the services provided in Gozo for disabled persons and their families .
She stated that on completion of this project, there will be a boost in the quality of life for people with disabilities in Gozo through an increase in the number of services, as well as a single point of contact.
“Consequently, there will be more comfort and convenience provided from modern premises that will be equipped to the highest standards,” said the Minister.
She added that “the Ministry for Gozo is committed to complete the work required for the building to be operational in the shortest possible time,” and for this, Dr Caruana thanked the employees from the Ministry who are working at the project.
The Parliamentary Secretary stressed that the Learning Hub will also continue to expand the operation supplied by Agenzija Sapport for the disability sector.
