A reminder that tomorrow, Big Band Adventures – the Annual Symphonic Concert with Nadur’s Mnarja Philharmonic Band will be taking place at St Peter and St Paul’s Square, Nadur, Gozo.
Organised by the Mnarja Philharmonic Society, with the collaboration of the Nadur Local Council and the Ministry for Gozo, this concert is held to mark the feast of St Peter and St Paul – patron saints of Nadur village.
This year the Band is also commemorating a very special occasion for the Society – the 50th Anniversary of its inauguration on the 16th June 1968.
The Society said that this year’s concert includes music arrangements “never performed on Gozitan soils by local bands.”
The programme for the evening includes music from popular film movies, medley of Mozart, Michael Jackson, hits from rock band Smokie, hits from pop band Saragossa and songs by Whitney Houston, Guns N’Roses and Van Halen.
Local guest singers Jolene Samhan, Francesca Sciberras, Tenor Stanley Portelli and Pop singer Ludwig Galea, will be joining the band for the concert.
The Mnarja Band will be under the direction of its Music Director Mro. Joseph Grech.
A spectacular synchronised fireworks show will be lighting up the night sky with live music for the grand finale.
The general public is invited to attend and entrance is free of charge. The concert gets underway at 9pm.
