Update: Gozo Live/Gozo College Writing Competition prize giving

Update with prize winners below – The prize giving event for the Gozo College/Gozo Live Writing Competition, was held on Friday evening at the Gozo College Middle School in Victoria.
A record number of 208 entries were received, from students attending 14 schools in Gozo aged 5 to 15 years. The event was sponsored by the Ministry for Gozo through EcoGozo.
In a brief address Barbara Day of Gozo Live, congratulated all entrants and told those who did not win a prize not to be disappointed but to continue writing – “all entrants were winners just by taking part.”
The audience was entertained to performances of three plays which had been entered into the competition. This year a total of eleven plays, written by group of year 8 students at the Middle School were entered.
The participants were asked to send in their creative writing in the form of short stories, poems, plays or essays, based on the themes of Culture of Gozo or Fairy Tales with a Twist.
The awards were presented to the students by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, who congratulated all the entrants, their teachers and parents.

The organisers gave thanks to EcoGozo/Ministry of Gozo for the donation of the generous prizes.

The Gozo Live Gozo College Writing Participation is now open and students are invited to enter stories, poems, essays or plays in English or Maltese on any subject of their choice.
