The Work Trial Scheme For Youths is being launched for the second year in Gozo, giving young people an opportunity to experience the world of work with private entities and non-governmental organisations this summer.
The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana, announced the scheme during her address at an activity in the Gozo secondary school, which was attended by a number of students who have successfully completed their secondary education.
Dr Caruana explained that the scheme aims to introduce young people between the ages of 16 and 20, and students attending courses in various academic entities, into the world of work and also help them choose their prospective career, as well as gain necessary experience for their future.
She added that the world of work is changing drastically and therefore it is important that students are trained and advised of the opportunities that exist.
Dr Caruana said that students can work both with private, as well as with voluntary organisations, thus increasing the value of work, as well as that of respect and solidarity.
She also explained that through this scheme, students will earn €75 per week, with a total of €375 for five weeks.
The scheme will be held from the 6th of August to the 7th of September, and applications will be open from Monday, the 2nd of July to Friday, the 14th of July.
Applications are available online here or mobile app, mygozo.
