A series of meetings with the public has been launched with the aim of discussing, analysing and evaluating how they would like culture to develop in the first half of the coming decade.
These public consultation meetings were launched by the Culture Directorate within the Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government.
In Gozo, they will take place at the Main Hall of the Ministry for Gozo, Victoria, next Saturday, the 26th of May at 9.30am and then on Saturday, the 16th of June at 10.00am.
Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici said that, “we encourage active participation for these meetings especially since the community is at the heart of our cultural strategy, and it is essential that we draw up this policy together.”
“The new cultural policy aims to encourage the promotion of local talent and will also see to the strengthening of traditional and emerging communities to serve as catalysts of this cultural development, among other factors,” stated Minister Bonnici.
This consultation process will begin the first conversation about a new cultural policy for the period 2020-2025.
