The weekend of Mother’s Day activities held in Gozo, was hailed as a great success by the Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana.
In a statement, the Minister explained that the event created by the Ministry, was attended by many people therefore giving a boost to internal tourism.
Gozo was decorated for the occasion on the roundabouts and the Villa Rundle Gardens, where she said that the Spring Fair held for Mother’s Day, served as a showcase for local traditions and crafts, with stalls selling authentic Gozitan products.
The weekend also included activities for children and the whole family, as well as artistic exhibitions in different venues across Victoria.
The Ministry for Gozo held a Mass in Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary for elderly and sick Mothers, which was also attended by Minister Caruana.
Dr Caruana explained that the weekend was part of a thematic programme of events planned through the year as an attraction for visitors to Gozo, which includes this coming weekend’s event – Gozo Alive .
