Bomb threat on Gozo Channel vessel, service suspendedUpdate: Service has been resumed early this afternoon, however long queues have formed on both sides of the channel, for those in Gozo, live cameras are available here.

Gozo Minister, Dr Justyne Caruana said that the “bomb threat on Gozo Channel was an act of cowardice to be condemned.”

She thanked Gozo Channel employees, AFM, Police, Civil Protection, TM and all involved who ensured a safe outcome and resumption of service.

This week only 2 ferries are running, with the MV Malita scheduled out of service until Friday.

The Ministry for Gozo, in a statement earlier said following an anonymous call received about a bomb threat on a Gozo Channel vessel, the service has been suspended pending the necessary checks.

The authorities were informed immediately and all precautions are being taken to avoid any risk to the public.

The Ministry apologised for any inconvenience due to the temporary suspension of the service.
