As from today all local wardens, will all be transferred to a “closed department” within the Local Enforcement System Agency (LESA) governmental agency, which was set up three years ago.
The Local Government Ministry in a statement said that this agency will also continue positive reforms from both an educational aspect as well as operationally. This transfer will lead to a larger presence of wardens in the local communities.
This reform will put full emphasis on the need for training for wardens, with local enforcement no longer limited to traffic offences but in other important areas such as environmental and educational within our communities, the Ministry said.
