Gozo tunnel geological and seismic tests currently being analysed

Geological tests conducted as part of the preliminary studies on the tunnel between Malta and Gozo were completed in March this year, at a cost of €831,595.60 excluding VAT.
This was said in Parliament by Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg, when replying to a question put by Nationalist Party MP Chris Said.
Minister Borg added that currently the results of these geological tests are being analysed in conjunction with the seismic tests. He said that these results will be published in time.
The Minister also explained that the role of the consultative committee for the Gozo tunnel project, is the coordination between stakeholders “to encourage ideas for the project to move forward in the best possible way and to be successful.”
