A new exhibit has been set up by the Gozo Philatelic Society in their showcase at Il-Hagar Museum in Victoria.
This temporary exhibition is in preparation for a public lecture being organised at the museum on the 19th of May based on a 1886 letter to Alexandria. These are further items from the Juncker Malta collection donated to the GPS.
Visitors will be able to view vintage letters sent to or received from North African addresses. The GPS said that the letters are so old (even dating back as far back as the first decade of the nineteenth century), they carry interesting postal markings and also highlight aspects of social history.
Il-Hagar Museum is located in St George’s Square and the opening hours are 9am-5pm seven days a week – there is no entrance fee.
