Advancement of studies on Gozo tunnel welcomed by Gozo Youth CouncilThe news of the advancement of studies of the tunnel between Gozo and Malta, has been welcomed by the Gozo Youth Council.

GYC in a statement, noted that the details provided by Transport Minister Ian Borg “show that the Government has been taking the issue seriously.”

The Council remarked that, “this project, with the necessary studies, would increase Gozo’s contribution to the economy.”

The Gozo Youth Council concluded by saying that it “welcomes initiatives which are of benefit in addressing the current brain-drain of young Gozitan people who leave the island to live in Malta due to a lack of job opportunities, in the process having to make choices between career and family.”

The above is all true, however, in my opinion, decisions are taking too long. If the tunnel takes another six more years to be finalised, without another Ferry, I think longer queues will soon be seen on opposite sides of the islands.
