Malta International Fireworks Festival kicks off in Xaghra on Saturday

This Saturday, Xaghra, in Gozo kicks off the opening displays for this year’s 17th edition of the Malta International Fireworks Festival.
It is third year that Xaghra has hosted the opening event, which always attracts large crowds from across the island, as well as those who travel over from Malta to to enjoy the spectacular, colourful displays.
The opening night of the Festival in Xaghra will feature Phoenix Fireworks Ltd (UK) and Rozzi Fireworks (USA) against the spectacular backdrop of the island of Gozo. Local fireworks factories are also taking part in the displays during the evening.
Rozzi Fireworks was established in 1895 by an Italian family. They have won various festivals in Europe, the U.S. and Canada
Phoenix Fireworks operates mainly within the UK. It has recently won the British Firework Championship and the British Musical Firework Championship.
The Xaghra and Xewkija Bands will march to the viewing area from the band club to start off the evening and entertainment will be provided live on stage by Cash and Band.
For those travelling over from Malta for the display, there will be a special bus service from Mgarr to Xaghra and back at the end of the show. Gozo Channel will be running a normal service, plus an extra trip from Mgarr at 12.30am.
